EYE ON EBAY

The advent of "certified and slabbed" monster magazines has ushered in a new dimension in the purchase of paper ephemera and other collectibles. In my opinion, it carries with it the slight taint of rogue marketing as well. Pictured below is a slabbed copy of FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND magazine #14. Price? A mere 900 bucks.

Oh, THAT's all?
$900.00?
C'mon, we all know that you've probably got that much tidied away inside your sock drawer for just such purchases. Right? LOL

I like the idea of a guaranteed condition, but not at 10 times the price!

And how would you ever know if pages were missing or ads were cut out?
