BIG MONSTER MAG NEWS!

Good news for monster magazine collectors -- Fantaco Enterprises will be releasing the 4-issue series of the vintage title, WORLD FAMOUS CREATURES, in both hardback and softcover editions. While not necessarily rare, they are commonly found on eBay in less than desirable condition starting at around 50 dollars and up. That makes this omnibus a deal as you can get all four issues -- presumably scanned in good condition -- for the price of one beat up or incomplete copy.

The first of numerous competitors attempting to emulate the success of Warren's FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND, WFC published only four issues from 1958-1959 before it succumbed to failing revenue and poor distribution. Not many of us has had the opportunity to own or look through one of the issues, much less all four of them.

The book is slated to be published in May of this year. Pre-orders are being taken HERE.

FANTACO ANNOUNCES EERIE COVERS BOOK 2ND EDITION

I'm a little ticked at Fantaco. After going into hock for 60 bucks and waiting quite a few months, I finally received my copy of the hardback of the Eerie Publications' Complete Covers. Now, just a few months later, they are announcing a 2nd edition, with -- get this -- 20 more pages, due next January. While these new pages cover Myron Fass's crime titles, it's still a bit of a rip-off to have them land in a later edition.

In the meantime, if you can't get your fill of these classic lurid covers, you can buy the trading card set, available from Fantaco.

EERIE PUBS COVERS BOOK SOLD OUT!

I received a package in the mail last week and was surprised to see it was from FantaCo. I opened it up and there was a brand-spanking new copy of the Eerie Publications' Complete Covers hardback. The pre-orders for this were so long ago I forgot that I'd ordered it! Well, I'm glad I did because both hardback and softcover editions are already sold out, indicating that these lurid tomes are ever-popular.

The book's a beaut and I doubt if there are many original copies that have retained the bright colors of these great reproductions. Don't fret, though, monster lovers -- you can still order a digital copy HERE.

From the publisher:

ALL COPIES ARE SOLD OUT!! SORRY!! The Digital edition is now available.

All preorders have shipped and will be received during the month of June (if you live in the US).

EERIE PUBLICATIONS COVERS COLLECTED

Heads chopped off on a dissecting table, Brains boiling in a vat of chemicals, women with their clothes being torn off by horribly deformed creatures, and blood, lots of blood. These were the infamous images emblazoned on the covers of the Eerie Publications line of horror comic magazines in the 1960's and 1970's. Noted more for their covers than their content, Eerie Publications enjoyed the profits of filling their magazines with re-touched reprints from comics popular during the pre-code era, before horror was removed from all newsstand titles. But those covers . . .

Now, Eerie Pub's fanatic Mike Howlett, who published his previous book at Feral House, has assembled a complete collection of covers for Fantaco Enterprises. Available for pre-order, the book is scheduled for release in March.

From the publisher:
Superior quality hardcover edition with Smyth-sewn binding for permanence and durability.

The horror comics fans' dream book!!

By Mike Howlett, cover art by Bill Alexander with cover design by Jason Willis and book design by Jim Whiting.

SPECIAL NOTICE!! Everyone who preorders will receive a serial numbered book AND a specially designed set of ten full color Eerie Publications trading cards (one set per order), exclusive to this offer. The sets will not be available in stores.
