MONSTERS UNLEASHED NO. 3 (PART 1)

MONSTERS UNLEASHED!
Vol. 1 No. 3
November 1973
Publisher: Stan Lee, Marvel Comics Group
Editor: Roy Thomas
Cover: Neal Adams
Pages: 76

A sort of swamp monster special this issue. Starting off is another reprint of the first Man-Thing story by Roy Thomas, Gerry Conway and Gray Morrow. Later in the issue is another reprint of a story, "Swamp Girl", by an unknown writer and art by the lesser-known Vic Carrabotta from MYSTIC #19 (April 1953). There's an article on the story behind Man-Thing and one on post-Karloff Frankenstein movies. Another text article heralds the coming of the new Marvel title, SON OF SATAN.

  1. Gray Morrow's interpretation of the Man-Thing might well be my favorite. The strip is properly done for black and white, with a girl's barely concealed tits and everything a teen reader might want in a magazine of the era.
