Happy Friday the 13th!
The words "sophisticated" and "understated" were not found in Joe D'Amato's directorial lexicon. Instead, he relied on in-your-face (until it was chewed off) and gore and guts (of which plenty of both were spilled) in his films.
This issue of Germany's X-RATED TASCHENBILDBAND (#18, 1999) was a special pictorial edition featuring D'Amato's infamous video nastie story of cannibalism, ANTHROPOPHAGOUS: THE GRIM REAPER (1980). Screenwriter George Eastman was the hungry flesh eater. And, if you notice some resemblance in the actress who played Julie, she's Tisa Farrow, Mia Farrow's sister.
