SEA DEVILS
Vol. 1 No. 1
September-October 1961
National Comics Publications, Inc. (DC Comics)
Editor: Robert Kanigher
Cover: Russ Heath
Pages: 36
Cover price: 10 cents
Since his passing last week, it seems only fitting to post one of the comic books that Russ Heath illustrated. DC's SEA DEVILS had appeared in SHOWCASE, and their was enough fan interest to take a chance on giving them their own series.
Co-created by Robert Kanigher, SEA DEVILS were a group of scuba-diving, underwater adventurers. What made them different from other DC characters of the day is that none of them had super powers. Their stories included all manner of monsters and mayhem, as seen in this, the first issue.

Thank you for posting this comic! A neglected classic, one of my favorite titles.
ReplyDeleteThis was an exciting adventure series, with all sorts of monstrous creatures!
