You'd never have seen this in any monster magazine! Real horror lurks hidden within the pages of the March, 1971 issue of HOLLYWOOD STUDIO MAGAZINE. The news snippet on the right hand column of the page below describes a certain, Forrest "Achermann", editor of FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND, who donated one of Marcel Delgado's dinosaur miniatures from KING KONG for the "When the Movies Were Young" exhibit at the Coast and Southern Federal Savings museum in Tarzana, CA.
The article goes on to say that Boris Karloff starred in the 7 FACES OF DR. LAO. Not only that, but after mentioning a "mask" that was used in THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, the writer admits that it's a film that "we seemed to have missed"! Wow, talk about fake news!
