JOHN CARTER STRANDED ON MARS

Coming as no surprise was the low gravitational pull of customers to the budget-bloated Disney disaster, JOHN CARTER this weekend. When tree-hugging animals can conquer 8-foot tall Martian warriors, we've got a problem, Houston.

Overall, the movie had over twice as much in the way of ticket sales in Europe than in the U.S. The Disney front office was at their best, however, trying to spin doo-doo into cotton candy. But, aren't these are the same knuckleheads who created this financial farce?

  1. The sad part is, it's actually a fantastic film. I've been a fan of the Edgar Rice Burroughs books since I was a kid, and I really felt this film did the source material justice.

The problem, as I see it, is that the marketing for this flick was abysmal. If you weren't familiar with the books, it looked like a dumb, cheap sci-fi flick heavy on explosions and low on plot. Nothing could be further from the truth, but the film-going public avoided it for how it was presented.
