I was a big Warren fan through the later years of the line-up and liked the Pantha book pretty well as I remember. In the final few years they really jumped at trends and many of the stories had an increasingly satirical tone. I'm more in the mood for that kind of stuff now than was then. Wish I still had those mags.
The books certainly diverged from their earlier titles and the EC-style comic stories. I suspect Warren was trying to stay relevant with the times. Star Wars was a major factor.
