I was an avid fan of Fantastic and Amazing at this time. Both were very handsome digests filled with great stories, articles and illustrations. I remember Joe Staton was a frequent contributor and Stephen Fabians covers were often downright exquisite. I'll take time later to savor this article. Those covers are the ones for the paperbacks in which I first enjoyed the Lord of the Rings, wacky and bizarre, but memorable. I'm marking this one in my favorites.

The artist for these covers, Barbara Remington, had not read the books when she designed these covers.
