For awhile, this one-shot from Ziff-Davis' AMAZING STORIES was difficult to come by, but recently many copies have been showing up, selling for $100+ dollars or more.

Published in 1957 to coincide with the film's release, this novelization was written by the prolific author, Henry Slesar (June 12, 1927 – April 2, 2002). Slesar, is of course, well-known in the mystery and suspense genres and wrote countless scripts for television and soap operas, including episodes for ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS and THE TWILIGHT ZONE. He also wrote the screenplay for TWO ON A GUILLOTINETV GUIDE called him, "The writer with the largest audience in America".

While this adaptation that included Ray Harryhausen's outstanding stop-motion animation of the Ymir in 20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH,it is not one of his best works. It still covers the film closely, offering a few thrills along the way. A handful of illustrations are included with the text, but so far I have been unable to name the artist. At the end of the book are short bios of the principal actors.

Ad for the book in an issue of Amazing Stories.
