It's amazing to see how many of our favorite monsters (and our Horror Hotties) have shown up hawking various products. The fact that large advertisers use images of famous monsters of the movies and reinforce the influence that they continue to have on popular culture.
Examples shown here are: Dracula (shown above in a fine rendering by Jack Davis), Caroline Munroe (Yo! Ho! Ho! and a bottle of rum!), and Frankenstein's monster and the Queen of Outer Space herself, Zsa Zsa Gabor (from PLAYBOY August 1967).
Ah, I remember the Slim Jim ad from the back of my comics quite well!
ReplyDeleteI remember there was an ad for toilets with an actor dressed as Dracula. I want to say it was for Kohler.
