The term "B-movie" has come to be known for films low in budget and production quality. But back in the early day of Hollywood it had a more utilitarian use. This clipping from THE WALL STREET JOURNAL (May 18, 2024) explains the evolution of the term. Even the late Roger Corman chimes in.
