HORRORHOUND NO. 78 SPECIAL GILLMAN ISSUE

This year marks the 65th anniversary of the greatest Universal sci-fi film of the 1950's, THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON. Released nationwide on March 5, 1954, CFTBL was a smash that was also released in 3D (which I had the pleasure to see some years ago and was thrilled).

The latest issue of HORRORHOUND features an anniversary special starring the Gillman in all his guises over the years. It includes a super Jason Edmiston cover that looks Rondo-worthy to me. Now, everybody in the pool!

From the publisher:
HorrorHound #78 Jul/Aug 2019

The Gillman is celebrating his 65th anniversary – and HorrorHound issue #78 features a special retrospective looking back at the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and how this Universal Monster helped shape the film industry as a whole (eventually inspiring the Oscar-winning film, The Shape of Water). We look at the film franchise, its merchandise (including comic books, action figures, games, statues, and so much more), as well as a spotlight on the films that homaged the Creature ... or just outright ripped it off!

This issue also features movie news and interviews for:
  • The Boys
  • Crawl
  • Annabelle Comes Home
  • Charlie Says
  • Plus our regular features, such as the latest toy news and horror comic book news, Hounds Sounds (including a Mac Sabbath interview), a spotlight on the career of Roky Erickson, and Kitley's Krypt.
An earlier cover version from the Previews World catalog.
