Just released last month is the premier issue of a new monster magazine called -- well, MONSTER MAGAZINE. Looks to be a publication from a team of comic book artists. We'll see where this goes...
You can order it HERE.
From the publisher:
MONSTER MAGAZINE NO.1 IS HERE!!
Several month’s of hard work and we, at Visual Comics, are proud to announce that Monster Magazine no.1 is here!!
OLD SCHOOL MONSTER MAGAZINE
Monster Magazine, the retro horror/comic magazine, contains film reviews, comics, and monsters…lots of monsters! The magazine covers material from 1972 and back.
INFLUENCES FOR MONSTER MAGAZINE
Those great classic horror magazines of yesteryear are still inspirations to thousands of monster kids world wide. Famous Monsters of Film Land, Eerie, Creepy, and Nightmare to name a few are influences for Monster Magazine.
THE BEGINNING?
If sales go well for the first issue, Monster Magazine plans to go monthly. They are are also researching ways to lower the price by selling ads.
IN THIS ISSUE:
This issue contains an article by blogger Dave Goode (the Goode Stuff blog). He writes about the 1965 cult film Konga. David Walker presents a look into surreal moments in horror films. Artist Vance Capley (vancecapleyart.com) presents an illustrated version of H.P. Lovecraft’s Dagon. And finally a fantastic interview with cover by artist Ricky Blalock.
