Published by Poor House Press in 1974, THE SPIRIT COLORING BOOK contains classic splash pages from Will Eisner's THE SPIRIT strip, each printed in black and white so anyone can color it in paint, ink, marker and yes, even crayons!
The page reproduced here is about 10" x 14". If you have a printer big enough, you can either print it full-size or reduce it using Photoshop, Corel, etc. If you are planning to color it using wet media, I suggest printing it on card stock such as Bristol Board.
Have fun!

Spanking used to be all the craze in comics and movies. Batman and the Phantom seemed quite fond of 'la fessée', and posters for McLintock! (1963) even featured John Wayne about to lay his firm right hand upon the posterior of an underwear-clad Maureen O'Hara. Curious times...

DeleteI was subjected to more than one good spanking growing up back in the day and I think I turned out alright. I've collected what I believe is some interesting material on this topic and may share it on an upcoming "A Pop Culture Moment" post.
ReplyDeleteThe most recent iteration I've seen was in the sitcom The Big Bang Theory, when Sheldon decides his girlfriend Amy needs to be taught a lesson. However, he doesn't realise she finds the experience sexually stimulating (rather as did the title character in the 2002 movie Secretary).
DeleteFrom corporal punishment to pop culture!
