THE MONSTER TIMES NO. 17

Editor Joe Kane serves up another excellent dish in this special science-fiction issue of THE MONSTER TIMES from November 30, 1972. Features include FORBIDDEN PLANET, FLASH GORDON, THE MYSTERIANS and the first part of the MONSTER TIMES SCI-FI TV GUIDE. Also covered is Rod Serling's NIGHT GALLERY and Amicus' ASYLUM (aka THE HOUSE OF CRAZIES). This issue's comic strip has some early art by John Byrne.

  1. Not just John Byrne artwork, but a Bjo Trimble / Tim Kirk comic strip advertising a forthcoming fantasy film convention in Los Angeles.

  2. Yessir, it truly was a genre newspaper.

  3. I had this issue, but somehow despite my packrat ways only the Flash Gordon image remains, tucked away somewhere. I must've used it as a poster. Great memories.

  4. I always looked forward to the next issue on the newsstand. A lot of fun to read.
