FANTASY ART SHOW

All manners of fantasies are seen here in the first issue of ART SHOW. Subtitled, "The Fantasy Art Monthly", it was published in December, 1977 and affords a glimpse at the kind of primo original art and prints that were being offered at the time.

Publisher B. Singer explains in his editorial the purpose of the magazine:

Packed into its brief 20 pages is original art for sale by Berni Wrightson, Jeff Jones, Frank Brunner, Mike Kaluta and many others.

  1. There's some great stuff here. I'm a huge fan of Catherine Jones' "Idyll" work. I don't always understand it, but it fascinates me on end.

  2. I purchased the oversized Idyl book from Blue Star back in 1975. A seller on eBay wants $395.00 for it! It was reprinted in 1979 and available for much less. It contains strips he did for National Lampoon. A fantastic draughtsman in the school of Krenkel, et al.
