    I've been watching some vintage Republic serials and I am always impressed with the physical effects they were able to pull off, especially flying gags. It's the best stuff in that arena before Superman in the 70's. And I'm a big Bogart fan as well. I consider "The Maltese Falcon" the perfect movie, not a single wasted syllable. I can watch over and over again just marveling at the craftsmanship.

    Arthur Edeson was behind the camera for The Maltese Falcon. He was also the cinematographer of the 1931 Frankenstein!
