EDWIGE FENECH: QUEEN OF GIALLO (PART 1)

Among all the beautiful women that acted during the height of the giallo film era, Edwige Fenech is generally regarded as the "Queen of Giallo". Her remarkable good looks and acting ability were the keys to her popularity. The fact that she landed some roles in choice movies didn't hurt either.

The French Italian actress was born in French Algeria on December 24, 1948 to a Maltese father and a Sicilian mother, the combination of which accounts for her beauty.

Her first Italian film role was in Guido Malatesta's SAMOA, QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE (1967). Her giallo films include FIVE DOLLS FOR AN AUGUST MOON (1970), YOUR VICE IS A LOCKED ROOM AND ONLY I HAVE THE KEY (1972) and ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK (1972). While she is very popular with genre fans, she is more known internationally for her many Italian sex comedies.

Shown below is the hard-to-find German film magazine, SIMPLE MOVIE PORTRAT (#7, 2010), a special edition featuring Miss Fenech and is probably the most complete overview of her film career in print.
