Okay kids, break out your 3D glasses, it's time for some three-dimensional derangement! First published in 1984 by the underground artist known as "XNO", BRAIN-BAT was given the Ray Zone 3D treatment in 1992. Dedicated to the memory of the comic book artist, Basil Wolverton, the title is in reference to his story, "The Brain Bats of Venus", in MISTER MYSTERY #7 (Stanley Morse, September 1952).
XNO attended the Memphis College of Art in the 1980s. He did some comics work for a Punk Rock 'zine called MALICE. He then started his own publishing company, XEX Graphics. Following that, he had work appear in R. Crumb's WEIRDO, Ray Zone's 3D comics (shown here), and contributed to the Topps trading card series, DINOSAURS ATTACK!
