After its debut in February, 1958, FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND didn't have an issue with a January cover date until this one, in 1961.
Some notes about this issue:
- Basil Gogos' cover was used again for issue #47.
- Publisher James Warren moves his office from Philadelphia to New York
- Harry Chester becomes the new production manager
- The letters page was re-titled Fang Mail
- At the end of the Robert Bloch article, Warren "dumbed down" the "frighteningly erudite" writing for kids and asked readers if they preferred more serious articles. Since FM maintained it's childish tone, it seems the response was underwhelming
