Author Anne Rice's passing late last year made national headlines. No wonder -- Rice was known for her Vampire Lestat chronicles which sold copies in the millions and she had enthusiastic fans the world over. Her legacy cannot be understated, as she brought fresh, fervent blood to the vampire novel and re-infused the entire genre with her imaginative work.
