After going almost twenty issues with 68 pages of content, this is FAMOUS MONSTERS' first 100-page issue. After jumping off with a glimpse of new movies to come (it's interesting to note that all these now-familiar films were just coming out at the time!), we get a look at the latest Roger Corman AIP Poe Pic, TALES OF TERROR, followed by a bio on "The Lord High Minister of All That is Sinister", Peter Lorre. Plus, over 20 pages of ads for monster goodies! Lots of other great stuff in this issue!
Issue #19 was a great issue with a great cover. Actually, FM's first 100 page issue was #13 with a cover date of August 1961. The late Forry Ackerman had gone on record stating how much he despised the cover of #13.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your correction and astute observation! I think it would be hard to find anyone who would disagree with Forry's dislike for the cover of issue #13.
