Not as thoroughly covered as many other Universal monster movies, SON OF DRACULA (1943) is nevertheless an interesting take on the vampire's legend. Notable is that the film takes place in a contemporary setting with no gothic castles or battlements in sight. It was also Lon Chaney Jr.'s one and only role as a vampire.
