Posting today are the first three issues of Charlton Comics' GORGO series, which ran for 23 issues from 1960 (and possibly hit the stands in early 1961 to coincide with the release of the film) until 1965. The first issue adapts the American-British King Brothers (MGM) co-production after Charlton secured the rights. The rest of the run are original stories written by Joe Gill, with 8 of the issues drawn by Steve Ditko.
In issues #2-23, Gorgo and his mother, Ogra battle all sorts of monsters, aliens and even humans. There was even a crossover issue with the war comic, THE FIGHTIN' FIVE (#41, January 1967), but by the time it was published, they had lost the rights to the character and were forced to remove Gorgo's name from the script and modify his appearance.
Charlton also managed to secure the rights for two more monster movies, REPTILICUS and KONGA.
This issue includes, "Fear", a 4-page story by Joe Gill and Rocco "Rocke" Mastroserio.
Here's a list of the critters that Gorgo and Ogra did battle with during the series (from "Wikizilla"}:
