Robert Walton IV leads an expedition to the Arctic to retrieve the body of the Frankenstein monster, believed to be frozen in ice. During the journey, he tells the tale of the monster's creation to the cabin boy. Thus begins the 18-issue run of Marvel's MONSTER OF FRANKENSTEIN (identified simply as, FRANKENSTEIN in the indicia, and titled "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein on the splash page). Deftly written by veteran script writer Gary Friedrich and drawn by the talented Mike Ploog, MOF was a solid entry into the canon of the Marvel Monster Empire of the 1970's.
