CRACKED'S FOR MONSTERS ONLY
Vol. 1 No. 8
July, 1969
Major Magazines, Inc.
Publisher and Editor: Robert C. Sproul
Art Director: Charles Foster
Writers: Joe Kiernan, Richard Bojarski, Otto Binder
Artists: Jerry Grandenetti
Like Charlton's run of movie monster magazines MAD MONSTERS and HORROR MONSTERS, CRACKED'S FOR MONSTERS ONLY lasted for 10 irregularly-published issues, from 1965 to 1972. FMO differed from CRACKED's other monster parody magazines was the addition of text articles. This particular issue also is photo-based and the only cartoons to be seen, besides the ads, was Otto Binder and Jerry Grandenetti's 16-page strip, "Jekyll & Hyde 69", from "The Secret Files of Van Goro." CASTLE OF FRANKENSTEIN alumnus, Richard Bojarski is on hand for two articles, "Fantasy Films of the Forties", and a nice little bio of actor Dwight Frye (you'd never see the title of this article today!).
