After trying their hands at horror comics, the folks at Eerie Publications decided to expand their success by publishing the other "forbidden fruit" harvested from the 1950s -- crime comics. First out of the gate was CRIME DOES NOT PAY, a direct rip-off of the popular 50s title of the same name.

In 1970, MURDER TALES was published by World Famous Periodicals, but had the very familiar trademark blood spot cover element that was ubiquitous on Eerie Publications' covers. The entire content was comprised of reprints from the 50s title.

Bill Alexander was the cover artist, and two other artists, Frank Carin and E.J. Simpson, are credited with work on the issue.

Illustrated stories about real-life gangsters John Dillinger and Dutch Schultz are included. Other stories are "The Slayer of Smithfield", "Terror Down Under", and "Case of the Lovesick Clown". Feast your orbs on these tales of true crime, murder, mayhem and human monsters!
