For my money, the most gut-wrenching movie about a grizzly bear with a taste for human flesh is 1997's THE EDGE. But back in 1966, we had Paramount's THE NIGHT OF THE GRIZZLY. Starring cowboy hunk Clint "Cheyenne" Walker, Martha Hyer, the great Jack Elam, Keenan Wynn and Ron "Tarzan" Ely, it's the story of a retired lawman Jim Cole (Walker) who is looking forward to a less-dangerous life on an inherited piece of land in Wyoming. He no sooner gets settled with his family than a rogue grizzly begins to terrorize them. Along with the subplot of somebody else wanting the land that Cole is on and you have yourself a thrilling story.

Dell Comics published the comic book adaptation of THE NIGHT OF THE GRIZZLY to coincide with the release of the movie. Pencils and inks are by Jack Sparling, who also did some work for Warren.
