Revisiting this issue's fanzine column after nearly 49 years was an odd experience, particularly as I supplied The Dark Side with its own take on the topic for more than four years (50 issues in all). Many familiar names there, including quite a few friends, but its usefulness is distinctly limited by the lack of contact details for those publications still in print at the time.
Yes, that would have been rather maddening to read about a 'zine and then not have the information to obtain it. I also think Cinefantastique was the opposite of what the authors wrote; it was more of a pro 'zine than a fanzine.
