Another title from Eerie Publications that plundered Robert Farrell's pre-Code horror comics for their content. The bizarre cover is probably a slap-dash work by editor Carl Burgos.
Also listed as an art director was one, Ezra Jackson. Purported to be one of Myron Fass' pseudonyms, it is more likely the African-American comic book artist of the same name. Jackson worked for Hillman and Fawcett in the 1940s.

ReplyDeleteOn an unrelated note, Ann Robinson's family has announced her death, aged 96 (belatedly: it occurred in September). I met her back in 1995, and have a photo she'd had created, showing her character from War of the Worlds (1953) with a Martian behind her, a shot which sadly doesn't happen in the film.
Correction: "have a copy of a photo".
DeleteIt's a nasty bit of work and indicative of the type of covers that Eerie became notorious for. I'm sure Miss Robinson's photo is a cherished bit of memorabilia. I hope you got her to sign it for you.
