Today I'm promoting Antonia Carlotta's YouTube channel, UNIVERSALLY ME. Miss Carlotta is the niece of Universal Pictures founder Carl Laemmle and her aim is "to bring the forgotten stories of Universal's Golden Age back to life". This is a good thing since it doesn't appear there is anyone else in the Laemmle family who gives a hoot about the Universal monsters or Old Hollywood.
Antonia has scads of short videos about the stories behind the scenes of the Universal horror pictures, as well as all the actors and actresses who played in these legendary films.
Please support her channel by visiting HERE and consider joining her Patreon membership.
Here are a few sample episodes to get you started:
Would Lon Chaney Have Made a Better Dracula?
Karloff and Lugosi's Cat Contest at Universal
Frankenstein's Real Tragedy: Colin Clive

Looks like fun. I spend quite a bit of time on YouTube and this I will definitely give a whirl. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI've become a big fan of hers. She packs a lot of information into her short vids and is very enthusiastic about her subject matter.
ReplyDeleteThis is really cool. Hard to believe she's his niece. Wasn't he 100 in the 1930s?
ReplyDeleteUncle Carl was in his 60s in the 30s. But, you're right. She's probably more correctly his grand-niece.
ReplyDeleteCheers for the tip, John; I've now subscribed to Antonia's YouTube channel.
ReplyDeleteGood move, Steve! A lot of her vids have at least one thing that is new to me. Looks like she's got access to a lot of family history.
