I had a pretty hefty collection of Heavy Metal back in the day, but like much of my collection in the 80's it had to hit the door to make way for a new baby. Just last year my neighbor shows up at my door with an armload of the earliest issues of HM and just hands them me. They're in average condition and I accepted them gracefully thinking to myself when will I get around to these. Maybe someday.
I've got a few of the earlier issues, including #1, left somewhere in the bowels of the Mysterious Mansion. On the whole, they're magnificent to look at, but some of the stories just didn't float my boat. Still, an influential publication...
