And now for all you Creature lovers, here's a special treat. Shown here is a latex rubber cast of our favorite Gill Man. Known as a "studio mold", the poly foam-filled bust was intended for display and made in the 1970's. The cast was taken from the original mold of the headpiece that Ben Chapman wore when he was terrorizing the crew of the Rita on land (Ricou Browning played the "underwater" Creature).
The piece measures 15.5" x 10" x 13" and was painted in technicolor hues using color test photos from the movie as a reference. It was sold at auction this year for $8,750.00.
