Today, I'm inviting you to visit WORLD OF MONSTERS' companion blog, THE JACK PIERCE MAKEUP MEMORIAL. I'm sure you all know that Jack Pierce is the makeup artist responsible for bringing to life many of the most iconic screen monsters in film history. While working at Universal, Pierce created such memorable monsters as the Frankenstein monster, The Mummy and The Wolf Man, as well as many others.
The site is dedicated to honor the memory and creative genius of Pierce, who passed away in 1968. Check out the most recent post by my friend and colleague, Douglas Brown, who has written an interesting piece about Jack's crazy idea to promote BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN back in 1935.
Doug and I have been collaborating on research into the life and work of Pierce. Along the way, we have come across many pieces of information that are not readily accessible. It is our goal at some time in the future to combine all of this into a longer format.
You can access the site HERE or from the banner above or sidebar on the left.
