Universal's Creature from the Black Lagoon is one of the most revered -- and favorite -- of the 1950's monsters. The unique costume design, exotic locale and underwater photography were standouts.
Up for auction are these photos of makeup man Jake Kevan claiming to be attending to Ben Chapman before he goes in front of the camera in one of his "on land" scenes. Maybe it's just me, but the look of The Creature seems a bit off, almost like it's a prototype or full-size prop, which would make these promo shots. Anybody know for sure?
Auction estimate: $800 - $1,600.
