All hail Mamie Van Doren! Born Joan Lucille Olander on 6 February 1931 in Rowena, South Dakota, Miss Van Doren is a young 89 years old. Back in her heyday, she was one of the three famous Hollywood "M's" alongside Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield. Never to be outdone, Mamie was never shy in front of the camera and flaunted her voluptuous charms whenever there was an opportunity to do so. There was a cautious competition between the three of them, but when Mamie was cast with Mickey Hargitay, Mansfield's then-hubby, Jayne had a jealous fit.
While Mamie Van Doren is best known for her "bad girl" films like UNTAMED YOUTH, HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL, and THE BEAT GENERATION, we monster fans remember her in THE NAVY VS. THE NIGHT MONSTERS and VOYAGE TO THE PLANET OF PREHISTORIC WOMEN.
Before those two roles, she appeared in the September 1964 issue of the men's magazine, TOPPER (#9) in an exclusive photo shoot.
