Many monster movies over the years have dealt with the obsession of a deranged doctor or self-professed physician to capture the essence of immortality. From FRANKENSTEIN to EYES WITHOUT OF FACE, the search to create life, extend it and to restore youth has been a popular and well-used theme.
It's no small wonder that in today's real world, people are seeking the same "magic pill". Take for instance, 32-year old Ukrainian beauty Inna Vladimirskaya, whose answer to this age-old problem is a jog in the snow in the buff followed by a skinny dip in ice-cold water. Like a daily Polar Bear Plunge, Miss Vladimirskaya contends that the ice-cold water keeps her skin young.
Judging from these photographs, it would be hard to argue her point, but I've got a tough time with her analogy between walrus' looking younger than their age because they live in cold water. Does that go the same for say, cod or halibut?
In any event, Inna insists her regimen keeps her youthful. Let's hope she checks back 10 years from now with a similar report.

This brave swimmer certainly has a brrracing workout each weekend - she skinny dips in one of the coldest rivers in Europe - which regularly plummets to temperaturess of -9C.
Inna Vladimirskaya, 32, strips off on the banks of the Dnieper river, in Kiev, Ukraine, every Sunday morning, and takes a swim - after jogging naked along the snowy banks of the river.
The thrill-seeker says she's been carrying out the bizarre ritual for nine years - often alongside her husband - because she believes the freezing temperatures keep her looking young and healthy.
Before her swim, brave Inna takes a naked jog along the banks of the river Dnieper.
The fitness enthusiast believes her freezing workout is good for her health as the cold is good for activating circulation
Her swim was captured on camera by Czech photographer David Tesinsky - who had heard of her 'crazy' ritual from locals who see her skinny dipping every weekend.
Inna said: 'Every week I take a run in the snow and then plunge into the water.
'It's a way of looking after yourself'
'Immersion in cold water makes the blood rush to the internal organs, activating their circulation, which helps break down fat and improve muscle tone.
'It also helps beat muscle and joint pain and rejuvenates my skin, because of the increase in oxygen supply to it.

'The walrus looks much younger than its actual age, because it spends so much time in cold water.
'Humans can reap the same benefits if they are prepared to put the hard work in.
'I just make sure I don't stay in the water too long, and as soon as I am out I dry myself and go straight to my warm car.'
