CHOICE CUTS: FAMOUS MONSTERS NO. 29 (PART 1)

James Warren had an amusing habit of emblazoning numerous covers of FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND with the phrase, "BEST ISSUE EVER!". Well, he was right -- many issues of his world-famous monster 'zine were good enough to be called "The Best".

And just to prove the above point, today is posted issue #29. With lots of monster goodness inside, Monster Kids were treated with some really gruesome pictures, some of which could easily be the reason why parents didn't want their children within 10 feet of one of these. The feature story is on the indie film, THE FLESH EATERS and, along with the promised conclusion of the ISLE OF LOST SOULS filmbook, a review of "Mexicreatures", and articles on THE 7 FACES OF DR. LAO and THE MOLE PEOPLE, this issue is easily an FM choice cut!

The Flesh Eaters was actually a pretty good movie
(for its time) and Jay Robbinson gave a cool performance as the mad scientist... Well done for its limited budget
