Sometimes Forrest J Ackerman didn't get the earliest scoop on an upcoming monster movie. Take for instance the German cheapie, HORRORS OF SPIDER ISLAND. Stills from the picture appeared in the July 1963 issue of the men's magazine, HI-LIFE (see HERE). FJ's photo-spread appeared in the August 1965 issue of FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND (#34). This coincided with the 1965 re-release in the USA.
