WARREN'S 'SPACEMEN' NO. 7 (PART 1)

SPACEMEN
Vol. 2 No. 3 (Whole number 7)
September 1963
Warren Publishing Co.
Editor: Forrest J Ackerman
Cover: Photo cover
Pages: 68

"Warren Publishing Co." replaces "Spacemen, Inc." as the magazine's publisher in this, the next-to-last issue of SPACEMEN. Warren's father, Ben Taubman, is credited as head of "Astronomical Advertising". German-American science writer Willy Ley is listed as the "Honorary stowaway of Flight #7". Ley's writings could be found in many science fiction magazines of the day.

Contents in this issue include FJA's conclusion of the article about his much-loved sci-fi classic, METROPOLIS. Also shown are several screen shots of Forry as a guest on the daily Jack Barry TV show. There is news about the Toho KING KONG VS. GODZILLA monster mash-up and a look at Rocketman movie serial, KING OF THE ROCKETMEN. "Twins From Other Worlds" shows international science fiction magazine covers that use monster movie photo references (similar to MMW's own feature, SINISTER SIMULACRA). Another Japanese movie, THE LAST WAR, is a disturbing, cautionary look at what could happen to trigger "Atomicgeddon". Coverage of 1964's upcoming space movies is featured. A good issue!
