VAMPIRELLA NO. 8 (PART 1)

"Your magazine is twice as good as a subscription to Playboy" says one fan in this issue's "Vampi's Scarlet Letters" column. While I might not totally agree with that -- especially back then -- it still shows the enthusiastic support that was typical for Warren's sexy horror comic magazine. The first Vampirella longer story arc begins here with a script by Archie Goodwin and art by Tom Sutton. Sutton's work appears again on the inside front cover for "Vampi's Feary Tales" featuring the mythological she-demon Lilith (Lilit). Golden Age veteran George Roussos draws a story written by Don Glut. Gardner F. Fox, another Golden Age veteran writes a story with art by Billy Graham. Ken Barr, Jack Sparling and Tony Tallarico (assisted by partner Bill Fraccio) drawing under the joint pseudonym Tony Williamsune all contribute some super pencil and ink work. HEAVY METAL's Phillipe Druilliet has his drawing of Vampirella included in the "Vampi's Flames" fan page.
