Some fun movies in that gallery, although The Earth Dies Screaming -- Terence Fisher's second job for the low-budget Lippert Films -- never lives up to the promise of that title.
ReplyDeleteI recall it being more of a shout than a scream.
ReplyDeleteI confess to referring to it in the past as The Earth Dies Yawning, which is arguably rather too dismissive, although that final shot of busy traffic on a supposedly lifeless road is rather groan-worthy.
Delete"Yawning" is a more befitting descriptor. What I do remember is it was hard to get through. I think Day of the Triffids is a far superior apocalyptic film.
ReplyDeleteMany favorite monsters here. There was a time when things like Monster on Campus and Curucu Beast of the Amazon actually frightened me. I love poor Gorgo and I have a soft spot in my noggin for Hedorah. That Godzilla movie is the most.
