We Monsterologists know that there is a close connection between sex and horror. This bizarre relationship includes the association with blood and sex. When combined with sexy women, the two elements, while erotic in some respects, can be further characterized as a fetish. The subject has been been studied as a part of horror film history and exploited by filmmakers wanting to cash in on the wave of flesh and blood.
It's no coincidence that blood and seductive females are a part -- sometimes integral -- of horror films. The image of blood on a naked body conjures the repulsion -- and attraction -- of vampirism. The promise of the undead and its dark and erotic delights, can only be attained by the loss of blood.
