MONSTER WORLD
Vol. 1 No. 7
March 1966
Editor: Forrest J Ackerman
Cover: Gray Morrow
Pages: 68
Sporting a fine cover by artist Gray Morrow, this issue of MONSTER WORLD is one of the best out of the bunch, despite having 21 pages of advertising (nearly one-third the page count of the issue!). Dominating is the SON OF FRANKENSTEIN filmbook, original to the magazine and not a reprint. Replacing the ubiquitous "It Asked for You" photo feature is a "You Asked for It" photo feature dedicated solely to Hammer's PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, starring Herbert "Captain Nemo" Lom. Supporting the rest of this solid issue are articles on GHIDRAH, Basil Rathbone and Christopher Lee. Also of note is a snippet in Bill Obaggy's "Headlines from Horrorsville" that says Maila "Vampira" Nurmi had just opened an antique shop in Hollywood. The name? "Sheer Madness", of course!
