International Pipe Smoking Day was initially organized in 2008 in the U.K. "to bring together pipe smokers for camaraderie, share a bowl in solidarity, and appreciate the tradition of pipe smoking". It has since become a world-wide celebration.
I've had poor success with pipes over the years. Cigars were a favorite for a short time, but it's been decades since I smoked anything. And even then, like a former President, I never inhaled.
There is an art to pipe smoking, I'll admit. Don't smoke one very often anymore, but the best thing I probably learned about briars is patience. The State of Washington is doing its best to snuff out the tobacco industry--they've imposed a NINETY FIVE PERCENT TAX on all nicotine products. Can you imagine spending over 20 bucks on a lousy pouch of Capt. Black? Plus, they've made it illegal to buy tobacco products by mail from another state. Now, that's fascist!
