A BIT OF 'BLAB' ABOUT EC COMICS (PART 2)

  1. I had quite a collection of undergrounds back in the early 1970's (had to make sure my parents didn't see them). Looking back, some were just complete trash, with really no redeeming value, other than going against the regular book norm. That being said, for me Gilbert Shelton was the best. Good artist, and extremely funny.

  2. Shelton's Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers and Fat Freddy's Cat are often laugh out loud funny. They have aged better than others and have endured through regular re-printings. Crumb is an institution, and as with S. Clay Wilson, much of their stuff really pushes the envelope of good taste, which was their point it seems.
