For fans eagerly awaiting the next DARK SHADOWS comic, their wish was granted with the November, 1970 issue (#7). The two-part story, "Wings of Fear" was again written by D.J. Arneson and rendered by Joe Certa.
The story itself is pretty wild. It tells of the return of Barnabas Collins' nemesis, Angelique the witch, who appears to have turned Barnabas back into the terrifying creature that he has been struggling to escape ever since the first issue. He turns a young woman into a vampire and she wreaks havoc. But is it really Barnabas who is responsible for this nightmare, or his double? Some interesting panels by Certa in this issue.
A couple of notable comments: This is the last photo cover issue in the series. There is also a mistake on the first page, calling Collinwood "Collinswood" -- a heresy for any DARK SHADOWS fan!
