The poster artwork for movies are meant to be evocative and create a response for the observer to want to see it. It's no coincidence then, that posters for horror films are designed with, well, horrific images to elicit the right kind of reaction. There have been many horror movie posters over the years that have become iconic in evoking an immediate recognition of the particular film they are representing. While not always as familiar, posters created for the international market are often even more lurid and striking than their American counterparts.
