LITTLE SHOPPE OF HORRORS #34 Front Cover by Mark Maddox. |
We just got the announcement from Jim Clatterbaugh that the next issue of MONSTERS FROM THE VAULT #34 will be the last. Now comes an appeal from Richard Klemensen to help keep his magazine, LITTLE SHOPPE OF HORRORS, from suffering a similar fate.
Ironically, the newest issue of Klemensen's 'zine is also #34 and features the Hammer version of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Those of you who are familiar with LSOH know that it will be 100 pages full of jam-packed, chewy monster goodness.
Klemensen faces the same challenge that every other publisher of an independent print magazine does ... how to stay relevant -- and viable -- in the digital age. I think I've made it clear here at MONSTER MAGAZINE WORLD that I am a firm believer in the tradition of the print magazine. Digital is good, but print is better, IMHO, and I much prefer the overall experience of holding in my hand a printed book or magazine.
On his webpage, Klemensen asks: "Support Little Shoppe of Horrors! In this changing age for print magazines, we need your support more than ever. We’d like to give you many more issues filled with interesting articles and in-depth interviews. We've been at it for 42 years. Help us go on for a few more!"
If you've never had the pleasure of reading an issue of LSOH, now is the time to do it. Here is the contents of the latest issue, now available HERE.
